Welcome to Pure Color, a chronicle of my journey through the color correction and grading process. As a cinematographer (you can see my work at http://www.arthurwoo.com), I’ve run the gamut from working with great colorists on projects to having to act as the colorist out of pure necessity. This site is a compilation of key learnings and applications I’ve discovered through that process.
Below are some examples of what’s possible with color grading using footage I shot and matching it to a reference image. Although there are many facets to what makes up color correction and color grading, the area of color most people seem to be interested in is how to take existing footage and give it a certain mood/feeling, so this site will mainly focus on look creation, referencing, etc.
